Finally found the grail snake of my collection, the Safari Ltd Red Tail Boa, Boa constrictor.

I've added Safari's current Boa constrictor for scale.

Gwangi

That thing is beautiful. I can see why it's your grail snake.

BlueKrono

Very cool. My grail is the Safari rhinoceros viper. I'm learning French right now so I can go to West Africa and study them.
I like turtles.

That is awesome! I hope you find one for your collection! I found mine on eBay on a lot a year or more ago. After that I only saw one other for sale. If you keep your eye out, they pop up eventually. I hope your trip to Africa works out and you get to study these incredible animals.

Is that really the Belcher's sea snake? Doesn't really look like in the photos.

Given the size of the figure, I think it's a decent likeness. They tend to take on a more blue tone when underwater I think

Yeah, that's the labeling from the company itself. It's not uncommon to have aquatic figures painted as if they're underwater (probably taken from photos by divers)

How does that work exactly? Like how can in water look as blue as a yellow lipped sea snake but look completely brown outside of it?

I'm not a physicist so I don't know the mechanics, maybe something to do with light refraction. But it happens. It's photodocumented.
