Hello all! My name is Mikey from Sydney Australia! It's been a while since I've collected but thought I'd get straight back into it :) Over the next year I have a large project I'd like to complete to do with specifically Shark figures. My collection is empty atm so starting fresh :) Can't wait to start this new venture with you all!

Welcome. For sharks I recommend the Papo whale shark, the safari ltd  1998 hammerhead shark, the schleich 2018 great white shark, safari's oceanic Whitetip, great white, megamouth and lemon and you should get some rays. I recommend safari's cownose ray, the monterey bay giant manta ray, schleich manta ray, safari ltd stingray, collectA sawfish., CollectAs reef Manta ray

Welcome! If you are a fan of sharks you will find great colleagues here! I have some as part of a 'synoptic' collection but they are not my focus.

Welcome here! You will find a friendly community here, getting a very specialized collection is a good way to avoid overcrowd shelves. There are tons of very good sharks in many brands and plenty of threads in the forum talking about them. Whit this nickname, you cannot miss the K&M Port Jackson's shark :D

Will be good to start buying what you find and like in places like natural history museum shops, zoo shops, stationeries, flea markets and toy shops. It's more warm and personal than buying online, and will give you a special memory of a good day from each figure. But if you want to find very specific figures then is best to buy online, either in eBay, Amazon and the like, or in online specialized pages (being Aussie I recommend you MiniZoo).

A very good brand for making a great bunch of sharks at once is Safari LTD. This brand have more variety of shark species than any other and generally they're very well done.

I wish you feel comfortable at this forum and stay for long! :)

Welcome aboard! Will you be considering ancient species like Megalodon? If so, I recommend PNSO or CollectA, and Safari do a great shark set.

Thanks for that JimoAi! I've been eye balling these figures for years but never found the time to start collecting until (hopefully) now. Papo Whale Shark looks stunning and I've heard a lot about this notoriously unmatched to this day safari hammerhead, what's the scale on the figure?

Such a wonderful warm welcome! I'll agree with you there, buying online takes a bit of the magic out of it :) Somehow shark figures have always looked better in person vs the images online! Thanks for the advice Isidro! :D

K&M port jackson? :D I do wonder why they called it a Horn Shark instead 🤔
