I edited the first post with a better pic and list!

I/we will do individual pics when they become available!

Holy cow, where to begin. Would LOVE:

1. Papilio machaon, adult and caterpillar
2. European robin
3. ant
4. gray heron
5. lobster (maybe a European lobster?)
6. starfish (maybe depending species, if it's a common starfish and smaller than the Safari WS figure, it will replace the latter)
7. Canada goose (maybe, depending on how much better and bigger it is than Safari TOOB figure)
8. Camargue bull (maybe, if the quality it good it can join my growing collection of cattle breeds LOL)

European lobster seems like a safe bet given the colour, though colour variants of Atlantic lobsters can end up looking like European lobsters.

I'm reminded of the Safari IC lobster that was based on a colour variant.

Papo has a preference for European species. Except for the monarch, all their arthropods past, present, and (now) future, appear to be European.

That Canada Goose isn't just a repaint of their Mute Swan, is it?

If it is, then it's a no go for me. Which is fine, would prefer a Safari WoW figure  ;D

bmathison1972

I don't think its a repaint looking at images online...

Lanthanotus

The birds don`t look too shabby.... in fact they look quite good from those first pics.

sirenia

Looks decent. Like the robin especially.

Th
e bull si no an auroch or it is just  a Spanish bull ?

Very exciting!!
The robin is a magnific idea and seems very well done. Canada goose, heron, emu and lobster are also fabulous. The black bear may be my future black bear for my collection - the current ones didn't convinced me very much.
However I would need measurements of each figure before adding them to my wishlist!

Blaine, the Monarch is European too, not only American :D

Advicot

I'm so glad we are getting more and more European species, as I'm tired of just a fox or badger as a new European animal. We also seem to be getting more unusual animals (in figure form) from Papo, like an emu, especially its chick! Not to mention the Canada goose, grey heron and European robin  :D
Don't I take long uploading photos!

Yes, in the Azores and a rare stray to the UK, but not regularly breeding on mainland Europe

Arctinus

I'm quite liking these new figures. I'm definitely getting the butterfly and the caterpillar, the ant, the robin, the Canada goose, the heron, the starfish and the lobster (if it's the European species, which it most likely is) because I'm still missing all these species. I already have the Mojo emu, so I might get the chick. As for the bear, I'll have to compare it to the Collecta one and then decide which one to get.

Our tastes match again :-D

Not too much in my normal preferences, but I am currently committed to broadening my horizons. Probably gonna get the heron.

@bmathison1972

I'm curious about getting the lobster. I know there isn't much to go off of in the currently available images, but are there any lobster figures currently available that you think would be more worth my time, or does this one seem to be worth waiting for to add as a representative for my collection?

@callmejoe3 First of all it depends on the size. Most of the good lobster figures are large (Safari Ltd., AAA). The 2021 CollectA American lobster looks good but again mid-level in size.

Epoch created a nice European lobster (on eBay here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Epoch-Earth-Life-Journey-Crab-Shrimp-European-Lobster-Gashapon-Figure/203132082305?hash=item2f4b9d9881:g:mukAAOSwIftffjRK)

Kaiyodo made a nice American lobster, but it is one of the 'bottlecap' Aquatales figures. I can't check the figure at the moment, but I am sure it comes off of its base (the bases are usually 2.5-3.0 cm in diameter; I can't measure at the moment): https://toyanimal.info/wiki/File:Kaiyodo_A4_American_Lobster.jpg

Those are the best two in a small size, pending the 2021 Papo and CollectA figures.

Size is not too much of a factor because I give more leeway for animals that are well below human-sized. I'll probably aim to add both the Papo and CollectA lobsters next year.
