Great to see the models finally revealed. The maned dog seems better in sculpt and pose than the CollectA counterpart, tough I'm not sure I like the painting of the face. The painting of Safari LTD seems to be a bit lazy this year, this is especially notable in the zebra and leopard (and if the promo pics are like this, we all are sure that the real models can't be better). I'm not into prehistoric but a baby tyrannosaur is a good idea, as there are too many figures of adults of this species but very few models of youngs.  South American TOOB is not bad, even when this is a (marine) Indopacific humpback dolphin, not a river dolphin. Only humpback dolphins can be bright pink. Boto (Amazon river dolphin) is white-grey, sometimes with a very slight pink hue, but not this rabid pink. The remaining figures of the TOOB are quite excellent except the jaguar, with very simplistic pattern, tough maybe we can't expect a finer job in a TOOB figure.

Disappointing that there's only three wild animals, but from what I gather, Safari was hurt by the pandemic like so many other businesses.

I'm going to have to get the Spino, it's gorgeous. The only one I want from the toob is the arapaima, if someone would be willing to sell it to me separately. What is with the spots on that toob jaguar though?
I like turtles.

The toob does look great. Might grab it.

Not sure what baby Tyrannosaur you're referring to.... they are releasing a Dapletosaurus.

Also, that is, in no way, shape, or form, an Indopacific humpback dolphin.  It is definitely a Boto.  Is it vibrantly pink? yes.  But this is probably more due to the fact that Safari was not able to go back and forth with the factory in China to get the exact shade of pink they wanted due to all the shipping delays and other hassles caused by the pandemic.  This reminds me of what happened with the Wild Safari Blacktip Reef Shark - when it was first released, it was a rich, coffee brown color.  Safari contacted the factory, communicated that the color was wrong, told them what they wanted, and the next shipment contained totally repainted figures - still not what Safari wanted, though.  So, if I remember correctly, the CEO of Safari actually went to the Chinese factory and showed them what color he wanted the sharks to be, and the third try was the charm.  In a usual year, Safari may have gotten a production sample of the Boto back in the Spring, told the factory to tone down the pink, and the finished product would be much more natural.  But the pandemic has prevented and/or delayed a lot of shipping, especially to and from the US and China.  I'm excited to see a new Boto figure, at any size, even one that is too vibrantly pink, available on the market.

Definitely an Inia rather than a Sousa. The recent Safari Toob already did an Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin and the sculpt of the head, pectoral fins, and dorsal tailstock of the South American TOOB dolphin are all distinctly more like that of the river dolphin rather than the humpback dolphin.

You can also see in some of the "lifestyle" pics of the South American TOOB, the Boto is much more toned down in its coloration. Promo shots usually exaggerate lighting for effect, and photographing the toys against a white background can cause colors to appear more vibrant and vivid, but the actual figurines will likely be much more toned down as we see in the pic of the figures arranged in a "real world" setting.

And it is absolutely a Boto. Huge pectorals, long beak, shape of the melon, etc. It is intentionally a Boto, trust me.

Stuckasaurus

Definitely getting the South American Toob! I'm pretty pleased with the species they included. I gotta say though, I find it somewhat funny they decided to make this, since the only reason the Rainforest Toob isn't also a technically a South American Toob is because they included a Malaysian Tapir instead of one of the South American species.

Now that I know what Schleich and CollectA are offering, I think I might pick up that new zebra for my sons' collection.

OkapiBoy

I'm not that excited about the maned wolf, which was the one I was most anticipating. I personally like the CollectA version better. There is just something off about this one, and not a fan of the fused legs. Slim picking, hopefully they will have something more exciting for 2022.

The South America toob is the main reason I am here -- saw an image of it on Google and was very surprised and spent a while waiting for a chance to order it, which I finally did the other day. The sculpts all look fantastic and the river dolphin, sloth and anteater are all animals I wanted as a kid in this style. (I know the anteater was in the rainforest toob, I also ordered it, but only saw that later.) Also a much improved Jaguar and a beautiful Arapaima!
