Someone had to post a turkey today.

Thank you @Gwangi for continuing the tradition. There are more turkey figures for upcoming years...

It will be interesting to see how many years we can keep it going. It's a shame that all the turkey toys are of males in display. All the toys that I'm aware of anyway.

Sure we'll gobble them up.

Audubon Birds got rebooted? I used to collect these about a decade ago but the line shut down.

Mixed feelings on these reboots, the new material has printed on patterns which looks a lot nicer in some of them (such as this turkey) but they're also smaller and less complex so they have less detail in shape.

I wasn't even aware that these were reboots, when was the original series released? I feel like these are the same ones I've been seeing around for years now but maybe I just never noticed. Looking on eBay I see the series 1 toys are quite different, in this case I prefer the series 2 turkey.

I saw them from the early 2000's through to maybe 2013-2015. It's possible the new ones released soon after but were at different retailers.

There appear to be enough turkey toys to keep doing for a long time to come. This list doesn't include the most recent Schleich version.

Leave it to Starlux to actually make a turkey hen.

my latest, a crayfish model kit: http://animaltoyforum.com/blog/2020/11/30/red-swamp-crayfish-living-things-series-by-fujimi-mokei/

Wonderful! I occasionally encounter these in the wild here. They're beautiful but unfortunately not native to the area.

Thanks @Gwangi - We had crayfish in Arizona, but I also think they were all introduced. I think I read in my youth that there are no crayfish native to western US, but I could have misread, or misremembered, something.

Interesting. I guess it would make sense but they're such a widespread group that I can't help but be surprised. Here in MD we have about 14 species.
