CollectA thylacine, by @suspsy http://animaltoyforum.com/blog/2020/07/24/thylacine-wildlife-by-collecta/

That's from the DTB, right? @suspsy did you mail it across, cuz some of my DTB ones could go over.

Yes, and the Mojo Fun quagga. I took new photos just so they wouldn't be completely identical.

Oh! I didn't know moa were so recent!

Yeah, moa are thought to have been driven to extinction by Polynesians. That's what always happens when an invasive species arrives on an island where the local fauna evolved in isolation.  :(

But they get more attention than the Malagasy extinction event.

Yes, last moas went extinct in the 1500's. They were driven to extinction by the Maori when they arrived, like a lot of island populations.

Certainly no European saw them living, but they became part of Maori folk stories, which is where the name comes from.

@sirenia yes that is correct. You can 'migrate' over DTB posts that are appropriate for the ATB as well. That gray area of 'prehistoric' vs 'merely extinct' has been debated many times. Since we have two blogs, I would say anything extinct by 'modern man' would be fine (thylacine, dodo, quagga, Steller's sea cow, golden toad, etc.) but probably not things like moa, mammonths, woolly rhinos, saber-toothed cats, etc.

What's the best way to migrate them over?

@sirenia send text and images to the ATB email, as if they were totally new :)

Well, here it is, the CollectA 2020 Mini Insects and Spiders collection: http://animaltoyforum.com/blog/2020/07/26/mini-insects-and-spiders-mini-animals-collection-by-collecta/

I plan on doing the centipede and black widow in upcoming weeks, unless someone else has a strong desire to do so.

I was thinking this morning, the Blog needs more farm animals!
