I knew a pygmy hippo review was going to be inevitable during to Moo Deng's surge. Was a little saddened that neither the collectA nor safari ver was on the blog till today as I do read blog reviews before buying especially for western companies. I'm still on the fence whether to get the safari or collectA pygmy hippo for scale reasons as I'm sticking to only south American large land mammals at the moment. Also I heard this figure will be retired this year which definitely aged like milk since Moo Deng is really popular ATM.

I had plans to review this one since before Moo Deng came onto the scene but Moo Deng bumped it up the list. Hopefully someone that has it will review the CollectA version. It's a tough choice between them. I got Safari's because it was on sale and Safari toys are easier to find in the states. I think you're right that it's being retired and I agree, terrible timing on Safari's part. I imagine pygmy hippo merch will be in high demand. Pygmy hippos are going to be more popular now than ever before.
