"Lizard" (AAA)

This is a walk around for the AAA "Lizard".

At just over 30 cm in total length, it appears to be cast from a specimen of the genus Calotes, or possibly Dendragama.  It's difficult to say what species it is exactly, its coloration most closely matches the Forest Crested Lizard C. emma, which is also about the right size, but AAA replicas are often incorrectly colored.  However, C. emma should have a pair of small spines above the eyes as well as larger spines down the back.  Taking this and the geographic distribution of various species into account, the most likely suspect is the common Garden Lizard, C. versicolor, although the color only somewhat resembles that of a female.  The genus Dendragama is very similar to Calotes, and as such this specimen may actually be D. boulengeri, Boulenger's Tree Lizard, which is also a fair match for color and scale pattern.

Yes, I think the same that you friend, my geckos have a fingers very weak  .

yes, I think the same, AAA have done a lot of species of reptiles  .

Nice figure, Varanus! Calotes versicolor seems a good suggestion (also because of its commonness). For a Calotes it doesn't look that emaciated, by the way, they often have quite gracile legs.

Yeah, it was over weight so I had to put it on a diet, but then things went too far.

Which also makes sense because it's common in the pet trade, like most of AAA's other lizards.

I'm not very keen on this figure, maybe it is the paint job or the casting was done poorly, but I think this is one I'll skip over for my AAA collection

It has recently come to my attention (via ebay) that there is another version of this species by AAA, it looks larger and has its head and upper body turned to the left.  Its coloration is like this one.  I can't refind the image though.
