@sirenia here is the AAA page for deer on TAI: http://toyanimal.mywikis.net/wiki/AAA_Deer

looks like yours might be a fallow deer, because of the spots. But a lateral shot would be more helpful for me/us.

Wanted to, but would end up only having half of it from my shot, as it's too big to be uploaded on the forum. Thank you!

Could it be an Axis Deer?

Anyone knows the species of this eel?  HPIM5699.JPG

It's the spotted moray, Gymnothorax isingteena. That figure was one of the 'secret' figures in the first Yujin Saltwater Fish collection.

My empty head thinks it's a tessellated eel

You know, now that I think about it, not sure where I got the name from. This reference: http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~CH2M-NITU/kaisuie.htm

has a different name for it. I don't think I have the papers that came with it, but I'll check. In the meantime maybe @sbell knows!

The paper is labelled G. melanospilus, but that name is a junior synonym of G. isingteena.
There's a lot of variation within the species, so there's a few different synonyms, possibly subspecies.

Great thanks. I must have seen it as G. melanospilus and adjusted for the updated taxonomy! Thanks, Sean!

I swore the paper was mislabeled as G. javanicus

Now I need to look again...I have it as G. favagineus I need to see if I can find the sheet. I think I got thrown off by the Asahi site reference, which I don't know where they got that name.

Anyone knows which species this owl best represents? All I know is that it's some sort of Scops owl from the Love live franchise and is a pet of one of the characters IMG_20210430_231234.jpg

Can someone help me identify which species most closely fits Chap Mei ''Sting Ray''? I want to know which species this matches the most or if it's not accurate to any species.
@JimoAi I think you might be able to help

Probably based on a Ryukyu scops owl, as the Japanese scops owl has very distinctive red eyes.

If we don't try to limit it to geographically near species than the task becomes essentially impossible as a number of them look very similar.

I actually have no clue

callmejoe3

I already took care of it and reviewed the figure @JimoAi, it's the Spotted/Hemolyn ray (Raja montagui) that's actually a skate. The 'stingray' label was a misnomer.

To be fair the only spotted ray I know is the spotted eagle ray

Yeah, it's a very obscure species, it doesn't even have its own Wikipedia page. That made it very difficult for me to identfiy.

I've just ordered these birds in Aliexpress:

Anyone can identify them?

bmathison1972

do you know who made them? For example, if from Japan, it could narrow down Japanese species.

I suspect the birds are generic, but it may be possible to put names on them. For example, the green ones with a gold crest look a little like stylized goldcrest (Regulus regulus).
