Glad you found that Schleich seahorse @bmathison1972. I'm quite happy with mine.

As for me. I got a Colorata Gulper Eel (fake), a rare Schleich Fruit Fox, and a Schleich Wobbegong coming in the mail.

Wonderful, I have the bear, elephant seal, and (of course) lobster. The alligator is marvelous, but a bit too big for me :)

Yeah, in a perfect world, the gator ought to have been done somewhere in the 1:20 scale, but it was too good-looking to pass up and I wanted some good rep for my lack of crocodilians.

Some new things for me.

1. great green macaw (Ara ambiguus), new for 2021 by Bullyland! The figure appears large, but it's accentuated by the fact the wings and tail are out; it's body size isn't that much larger than macaws by Papo and Mojo. Nice to see Bullyland making something new, exciting, and frankly, very good.
2. zebra-tailed lizard (Callisaurus draconoides) by Wing Mau. This was the last WM lizard I wanted; I got it in a trade with Saarlooswolfhound for the WM flat-tailed horned lizard. She needed the latter to complete the set, and I didn't retain it because it's too unrealistic (head armature wrong and the tail is waaay too long). The zebra-tailed is a favorite species of mine, as I grew up with them in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona!
3. emperor scorpion (Pandinus imperator), new for 2022 by Schleich! My next Blog review! Not as bulky as I anticipated, but the detail in the appendages could be better.
4. Simmental cow, also by Schleich. I bought this because the online shop I bought the scorpion from required a $10 minimum purchase, and the scorpion was only $6. I don't like much of Schleich's stuff, but I like cattle breeds and this one looked decent.
5. 2006 Safari 'pterosaur'. This figure is not new, per se. I got it a while ago as a free gift from HappyHenToys when I had a dinosaur order over $100. I wasn't going to retain it, as the specimen it is based on is still undescribed. However, it's a good sculpt so I decided might as well keep in, in the event it gets described.

Got these fellers in. I got the whole set of the ikimon jellies and the 3d pictorial book reef fish but I'm only showing the ones I'm adding to display. Also, I wish companies would make more batoids (rays, skates, guitarfish) alongside sharks as we're seriously lacking in these that aren't mantas or sawfish  FB_IMG_1642776810888.jpg

The trumpetfish is interesting, which brand is it?

That's not a company, it's a line. Several companies have use the '3D Pictorial Book' terminology in their lines (e.g., Yujin). What company produced it? It doesn't look like Yujin to me, or if it is, it's one I'm not familiar with.

JimoAi

All I could find is a company called 'The access'. 9im not sure if that company manufactures or packs the figures...  However if you search that japanese name of the Napoleon wrasse on Mercari, it should leaf you to itIMG_20220122_214441.jpg

Ah yes, Access Toys! I have two sets of their beetles. They have also recently released some nice jellyfish.

Some Play Visions bootlegs in that set, I assume the rest are copied from somewhere else.

Access Toys don't do bootlegs. Also, just because Play Vision sculpts are copied, doesn't mean they are 'bootlegs' (which usually implied nefarious copying). Some Play Visions sculpts are still made today by Wing Mau (who was probably the manufacturer all along) and they are often outsourced to other brands, including Club Earth and Yujin.

Aah, my goof then. I see so many cheap unbranded Play Visions copies that it's really hard to say anything with certainty other than whether something has their mark or not. That boxfish was the false match.

I bought a nayab sea animal set for my birthday and oof... The sculpt quality as so bad and the figures have holes drilled into them. RIP to the money that I'll never wished to be spent...

Ps: I got a small lot of japanese branded sea animals as one of my gifts and I'll open it on the day itself. Stay tune for that
