Did you buy the whole set? Love to see some more pic's. Thinking of purchasing them.

A photo of the Colorata Paleozoic Creatures set of 6 was posted on the Dinosaur Toy Forum by Halichoeres:
http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=3390.msg194571#msg194571

I bought the set for the orthocone, since I grew up in the Ordovician.  :)

Thanks!! I am tempted to surf to Rakuten!  :))

Some more beetles from Beetle Guy!

First, Chalcosoma moellenkampi, Dorcus titanus sakishaminus, and Hexarthrius mandibularis from F-toy
Next, Megasoma elephas and Odontolabis cypri from their small standard and DX sets, respectively
Also, a cool Rosalia lesnei (?) and butterfly, both from unknown manufacturers

Next, my gift as part of the STS Forum's 'Custom Figure Swap'. The person who I was assigned to (Susanne), customized the Bullyland grasshopper into Chromacris icterus!

So, last night running errand, I stopped by a dollar store, since historically they are a great place to find toy animals and often insects. In a bin of assorted animals (sea life, dinosaurs, reptiles), I found the following spider. I went ahead and got it, but it wasn't until later I realized it was by Imperial Toys, and marked 2016! I didn't realize Imperial was still making animal figures.

The spider isn't realistic or modeled after a given species, but it is stamped with the Imperial logo. I wonder if the other animals in the bin were also Imperial?

If you look on the bottom, you will see there is also a large blank square area; this is probably for redistribution by another company (for example, a novelty company that wants to sell this spider at Halloween time - I have noticed Halloween decor usually has these kinds of barn-door stamps).

Anyway, happy to get a new Imperial figure, and for $1 USD LOL

Okay, kind of spamming the forums...but...

They're here!

The new Ancient Fish from Favorite!

Also, a PNSO Glyphoderma! One of the 2 I wanted (I already have the Himalyasaurus)...but couldn't get the hyena.

Still, Big ancient fish? Good day!

I have acquired a pretty bunch of insect figurines last year, mainly focussing on completing some insect series.

On Yahoo auctions  not much news turns up. I quess this is also because of competition by the 'Mercari App' Japan were still a lot of beetle toys are for sale, but not easy to purchase via proxy services like Buyee. And I have most of the series I really like complete. Leaving some Sega mushiking intermidiate size ones, some Play Visions insects and other miscellaneous stuff on the wishlist.

Some figurines I acquired last weeks.

The 2 full sets of Epoch beetles (2x6). I will do a walkthrough/overview on Epoch's entire beetle output soon.

Coming with these bases.

Than a firefly from a series of 5: Pyrocoelia fumosa (nr. 3 of the series) In the base fits a battery to light a little led between the leafes, so that it looks like the glowing abdomen parts.
In this series: 1) Rhagophtbalmus obbai, 2) Luciola owadai, 3) Pyrocoelia fumosa, 4) Luciola cruciata and 5) Luciola Yayeyamana. Most of them unique species in figurine form.
I have seldomly seen these. They come with a information card. The bases are all different, depicting a habitat detail for the species.

Than an other series I did not know. The usual species for Japanese beetle toy makers, but I really like them! They look good as well. A wee bit bulky. The paint on the Lucanus maculifemoratus reminds me of the Kaiyodo Capsule Q stag beetles set. Along these four I know are at least two others; Dorcus binodulosus and Chalcosoma caucasus.

If anyone knows more on these let me know please!!

Copyright mark and  'NAT'.

Detail D. hercules

And some Sega Mushiking intermediate ones. These are mostly a little bit bigger than the Sega small Mushiking series (overview follows). The paintjob is more realistic and the sculpt to. But that counts in many cases only for the dorsal and lateral view. The ventral side is sometimes even less detailed than that of the small series' figurines.

Eupatorus siamensis.

Cyclomattus elaphus

hey Marcel

That firefly is awesome! I definitely need that set too!

The scaraebaeoids marked 'NAT' are by Nihon Auto Toy. I think I have an Allotopus by them, plus other arthropods (crabs, giant isopods, etc.)

I have a lot of neat stuff coming in upcoming days so I will be doing several walkaround and set reviews!

Just bought half an hour ago the CollectA reticulated giraffe (http://www.collecta.biz/en/collections/wild-life/88534). It's a nice piece, very accurate and I like it over any other brands giraffes. Tough it's a bit disgusting to put it side by side with my giant pangolin (Schleich), the pangolin looks like "too giant" then... The first thing I did at home is add more spots in the lower flanks/belly and lower part of the legs, for make it more accurate.

Yesterday I bought the CollectA Pacific white-sided dolphin (Lagenorhynchus obliquidens) http://www.collecta.biz/collecta_files/products/88612.jpg at a stationery. The one I bought it not as accurately painted as the one of the link: once at home I painted black the tip of the lower mandible and made a fine black line from mouth to pectoral fins and from them backways, so now it's more accurate. One side of dorsal fin is good, but the other side have a sharp contrast between the clear rear part and the dark frontal part and this is much more difficult to correct.

Edit: And now at another stationery I bought the CollectA bowhead whale (http://www.collecta.biz/collecta_files/products/88652.jpg) , that is one of my wishlist figurines. It's perfect! I'm enchanted with it :) This shop have a lot of figurines, many more than most shops in my city, and I also saw some other wishedlist figurines such as the Schleich great kudu and the Papo walrus (that I think is better than walruses of other brands). But the shop is expensive, the whale costed me 8,95 € while onlice can be purchased for 6,50 €. Then I will not buy here again...

This might be a silly question but by 'stationary' do you mean a shop for office and art supplies?

Yes, I've just used Google translator and it gave me this word. Maybe Kiosk is a better word?

This came in today. Two sets of beetles (Dynastinae and Lucanidae).

Their are made by Acces toys (which was an unknown manufacturer to me before) and were released this month (june 2018)
The boxes have a wrong translation, saying there are twelve beetles in it. While clearly seven per set are there.

The Lucanidae set, which I like most, contains: Prosopocoilus giraffa keisukei, Dorcus titanus palawanicus, Cyclommatus elaphus, Dorcus hopei binodulosus, Phalacrognathus muelleri, Allotopus rosenbergii.
Nothing new species in toy form here.

The Dynastidae set contains: Dynastes hercules hercules, Dynastes hercules lichyi (blue type), Chalcosoma caucasus chiron, Trypoxylus dichotomus, Dynastes granti, Eupatorus gracilicornis Megasoma elephas.
So no new species known in toy form here also. The Dynastes hercules species have different molds, that's nice!

The figurines are pretty good, the ventral side is left plain black but also nicely detailed, the paintjob is fairly realistic. So nice figurines considering the price of about 5 Euro per set!
Might snatch up an extra Lucanidae set to repaint.  8) I am centainly going to lose the weird bright red eyes (which remind of the early sega sets)  ;)

Some pic's:

Very nice. I ordered mine through Brett so I probably won't get them for a short while. No new species but I'm excited to get species from a new company.

Just recieved  a bunch of Tomy Takara insects. These are not the really big models but from the three series with slightly smaller beetles (and one praying mantis, ant and migratory locust) that have come out in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The 2016 line-up had a mantis, which I might snatch up one day. I might customize some by repainting them. For they are made off harder PVC, witch is nice for painting.

The two hercules beetles (front 2017, back 2018 with symetric elytra print, witch is kind of a pitty, for unnatural)

The migratory locust

My favorites from this series; Dorcus hopei binodulosus and Prosopocoilus inclinatus.

The two different Chalcosoma beetles. Chalcosoma caucasus (left) and Chalcosoma atlas (right) only the head with cephalic horn differs.

bmathison1972

Nice. I plan on doing a formal walk around of the locust once I have it.
The 2016 mantis has metal forewings, like the beetles that came with it. It's also smaller than the 2015 mantis which is larger and all plastic.
I have both and can do walkarounds if desired.

I love love love love love love love that Locusta migratoria!!!!  It's G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S.  Congratulations on getting it already!!  I want like 5 or 10 of them.  I've been trying to watch for this set since Blaine alerted me to it about 3 months ago.... I didn't realize they were released yet - so now I've got to find out how much they cost and see about grabbing them!  I didn't pick up the Mantis in the past because it was another T. sinensis, and it didn't really seem to add much to the current lineup of 1:1 scale T. sinensis figures.  But I firmly believe that you can't have too many figures of Orthoptera, and this Locust is just a tiny bit over life-size, so it's a go for me.

@sphyrna18 This Rakuten seller (Toysanta) sells them per piece. I have been ordering with this shop for 8 years now always great service. With small package service the shipping is very reasonable.
