This is the walk-around of the AAA Crested Gecko, Correlophus (formerly Rhacodactylus) ciliatus Guichenot, 1866. Cast from a real specimen. Total length is approx. 188 mm.

I hadn't heard of either.  ;)  Looks very nice though, although considerably heftier than most Crested Geckos I've seen.

Yes, they are normally more slender. Looks a little adipose... :-\

Ana

Very nice :) But are those eyes in correct coloration?

brontodocus

There is apparently some variation in the colour of Crested Geckos eyes, some have a more brownish (some even reddish brown), and some have a pale iris. Of course the AAA figure doesn't have the patterned iris we'd expect from a real Crested Gecko.

your dollar store gecko looks like an anole...was it labeled as a gecko? Could be a mis-labeling in conjunction with an AAA/Playvisions knockoff?

I honestly don't know what it is, just a lizard that's kind of gecko-y.

the dollar store "gecko" looks like a scaled down AAA monitor lizard

It was brought up before in the Species Identification thread. It could be gecko, tegu, anole...maybe none of those. It's not high quality.

But does anyone have guesses on the UK Yowie?

The ID given is simply gecko for UK Yowies series 1, #32:

:)  Bronze Gecko by Pete Smit (Queensland / Australia)
(I'm not sure which species exactly Pete had in mind doing it)

But someone must have a guess! I kind of thought 'sand gecko' for some reason at one point, not sure why (maybe the base substrate?).

But given the heavy plates on the back, it looks less like a gecko than that bin figure!

yeah I was actually initially thinking one of the skinks

brontodocus

Must have CapsuleQ Museum Leopard Gecko set... especially Uroplatus phantasticus! 8)
Considering the Gecko by Pete Smit - while I don't know if this was the intention the tail looks quite fat. There are several Australian gecko species which store fat in their tails. For example, the Velvet Geckoes, genus Oedura look a little similar. Oedura literally means "fat tail".

Uroplatus

Hi everybody.
I'm Kevin from Belgium and new here on the Animal Toy Forum.
I'm mostly active on the DTF but when postsaurischian told me abouth this topic and asked me to join the conversation and post some pictures i told him i would.., so here i am. :)

Me and my girlfriend maintain a rather large collection of gecko's, not toy's but live ones, so i'm going to post some photo's here for reference. Hope that's okay...  ^-^

Let's start with this one as i see it doesn't even look close to it's plastic counterpart and the owner of the toy also got the scientific name wrong... ;)

Paroedura picta, female from Madagascar.

And we also keep the most rare of the Paroedura genus...

Paroedura masobe, breeding pair.

I sadly don't have enough time to upload all of them now but many more will follow.., next up will be our pretty large collection of Uroplatus species.

Hope you guy's like them. :)
Grtz.
