Hello friends, this is the figure of Eurasian Badger (Meles meles) Linnaeus, 1758 of Collecta-Wild Life. Total lenght is 70mm. This figure was relased in 2006 and it is avaliable. The European badger is a powerfully built black, white and grey animal with a small head, a stocky body and short tail. Its weight varies, being 7–13 kg (15–29 lb) in spring but building up to 15–17 kg (33–37 lb) in autumn before the winter sleep period. It is nocturnal and is a social, burrowing animal that sleeps during the day in one of several setts in its territorial range. These burrows, which may house several badger families, have extensive systems of underground passages and chambers and have multiple entrances. Some setts have been in use for decades. Badgers are very fussy over the cleanliness of their burrow, carrying in fresh bedding and removing soiled material, and they defecate in latrines strategically situated around their territory.

Collecta is a young brand of figures, but in his short time of existence, they have done a lot of figures of different species of animals (included rare species of dinosaurs and animals). In their category of wild life, they have included the European Badger. This figure is a nice representation of this animal. The colors are exact and the details are nice and the sculpture is awesome. I think that it is one of the best figures of this animal and a good acquistion for deers collectors.  I bought this figure in a toy store of Cádiz (Spain) one month ago ^-^.

Hehe, the fur texture on its back looks wavy! ;D Actually, the white patches on the head seem to be more accurate than on the Schleich Eurasian Badger, at least the patches on the sides of the head extend to the front legs. :)

Yes it is, I think the same that you. I think that it is a nice replica to be one of the first replicas of Collecta  ^-^.
