Hello friends, this is the figure of Black Backed Jackal (Canis mesomelas) Schreber, 1775 of Collecta - Wild Life. Total lenght is 77 mm. This figure was relased in 2014 and it is avaliable. This specie also known as the silver-backed or red jackal, is a species of jackal which inhabits two areas of the African continent separated by roughly 900 km. One region includes the southernmost tip of the continent, including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. The other area is along the eastern coastline, including Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti and Ethiopia. It is listed by the IUCN as least concern, due to its widespread range and adaptability, although it is still persecuted as a livestock predator and rabies vector. The fossil record indicates the species is the oldest extant member of the genus Canis.

Collecta is a young brand of figures, but in his short time of existence, they have done a lot of figures of different species of animals (included rare species of dinosaurs and animals). In their cattegory of wild life, they have included the Black Backed Jackal. This figure is a nice representation of this animal. The colors are exact and the details are nice and the sculpture is awesome. I think that it is one of the best figures of this animal and good acquistion for pandas collectors.  I bought this figure in a toy store of in Cádiz (Spain) one week ago ^-^.
