Wishes and hopes for 2025 and 2026

This thread is for what we'd like made in 2025 and 2026!

For me:

Saltwater crocodile.  I'm hoping this will come from Papo!

Gharial.  I want this so much!  I can't find Papo's anywhere, and I think a new one could improve on the missing teeth at the front of the Papo's mouth and the extra toes on the Papo's hindlimbs.

Grey junglefowl, Green junglefowl, Red junglefowl.  No junglefowl figure exists yet as far as I know!  They are beautiful animals.  I've ordered the species I'd like in order of preference.

Andean condor.  I'm aware of Papo's but I would like to have one that doesn't have a base and if I removed the base on Papo's its feet would hover above the ground due to the pose its in.  Also, I'd prefer to have one with open wings, it could represent an individual in the air or one driving a cougar from a carcass, as the condor is known to do...

Southern giant petrel.  I find it surprising this fierce species has never been made!

Great green macaw. I like Bullyland's but removing it from its base is too complex for me.

Green moray.  I'm surprised there isn't a standard figure of this iconic species!

Greenland shark.  It's about time this fascinating species got a good figure!

Eurasian goshawk.

Common wood pigeon.

Burmese python.  I would be (very) happy if Safari released theirs with a normal colouration.

Brown skua.  Another fearsome bird that has never been made as a figure.

Reticulated python.  It's surprising this human-eating species lacks a good figure!

Rose-ringed parakeet.

Golden ghost crab.

Brown pelican.  Mojo and Toymany haven't made a pelican yet, perhaps one of them could make a brown pelican?

Mallard.  I'd like a female one.  I'm very happy with my Mojo male mallard, perhaps they could make a female too?

Toco toucan.  There are some great ones, but they are attached to a branch and wouldn't look natural if the branch is removed.  Safari has shown a great toucan can be made without a base, with their keel-billed toucan.  I hope one day someone will make a toco toucan like that which isn't huge like Kitan Club's.

Ural owl.

I like your list @Sim. I'd be thrilled with a sleeper shark of any type; that seems to be the last frontier as far as large sharks needing a figure. I'm looking at you, Safari... I think a Greenland is the most likely because of the hàkarl connection. A red jungle fowl seems very possible as well, being the (probable) ancestor of domestic chickens. I agree, they're beautiful animals.

I would love a full sized skua. So far I only have the Kitan Club. Getting toy companies to make non-colorful birds is a tall ask though... To most people a skua would be nothing more than a brown seagull. Likewise a female mallard. It's just not charismatic enough despite how common the bird is. Speaking of color, I'd love to see a blue Somali ostrich in toy form. I think those would sell.
I like turtles.

For large sharks without a figure, I think there's also the bluntnose sixgill shark.  Another odd one!  A sleeper shark is very much needed!

I didn't know the Kitan ckub skua existed, thanks for enlightening me!  I'm looking for it now!

As for the female mallard, it's been made into a figure a number of times, so I hope someone will make a better one at some point!

That's true, though at least three species of sleepers are bigger. We have so many frilled sharks (mostly from Japanese companies) I'm surprised we don't have a bluntnose. In skuas there's also the Happy Kin, which I've been searching for for years with no luck. This may not mean that it's necessarily rare, just that it's probably not being associated with the company name.

I knew about the Happy Kin skua, I've seen it on Toy Animal Wiki.  I was just on there now and saw the Kitan Club version is there too.  How does the Kitan Club skua attach to its base, @BlueKrono?

There is one Bluntnose, a capsule figure by Takara Tomy. But agreed, a shark of that size deserves a larger figure, hopefully by Safari or Collecta soon! With Collecta just having made a goblin shark, and set to release a megamouth, perhaps the trend of large deep-sea sharks will continue and we can expect a sixgill next?

On the list of other "big" sharks that haven't had a figure before- I'd love a Broadnose Sevengill; a really distinctive and beautiful shark!

Also agreed on the need for a sleeper shark figure of some sort; one of the most overlooked group of sharks in figure form. I really thought either Safari or Collecta would've produced at least a Greenland shark by now, especially after the newfound public attention the species got a couple years ago with the study on their extreme longevity being widely publicized. I still have the Larami one in my collection, but it is very out of place in both size and quality from everything else- hoping a modern figure will come along soon to replace it.

That's delightful to know! However, think that might actually decrease the chance that it'll be made in standard size by a company like Safari.

I don't know that I'd consider a shark with a max length of 10 or 11 ft. to be "big", but I'd welcome a seven gill of course.

@Sim The skua attaches to the rocky base via a small rock attached to its tailfeathers.
I like turtles.

Sim

Thanks! :)  I'm not going to get the Kitan Club skua now as I see it would be too complicated for me to removed the rock attached to its tail.  So it would be very good if another company makes a skua figure!  Why do you think the sixgill being made as a capsule figure reduces the chance that another company such as Safari will make it?

BlueKrono

Because there is already a figure of it. If an animal has never been made as a toy before then it's a shinier pitch in the boardroom. In reality though, there probably isn't a lot of competition between smaller scales like Takara Tomy and more common scales like Safari, so it would only reduce the likelihood by a small amount.

I'd love a Oxynotus centrina as well, talking about sharks. I've seen the only pair at an aquarium in Valecia Oceanographic.
As well as the greenland already mentioned. And given CollectA tendency, I think it will be better their rendition.

Apart from that, my usuals: coati, more civets, jaguarundi, fossa, ...

This all makes sense.  I think that the Takara Tomy being an obscure figure only released in Japan also means there isn't a lot of competition from it.

Saarlooswolfhound

I hope to see more wild canids (per usual for me of course!) Gray wolves sure, but of course I'd love to see the lesser represented species like dingoes, African wild dogs, coyote, etc. but even more so the rare species (dhole, gray fox, jackals, bush dog, short eared dog...). But I am certain no such thing will happen in '25 nor '26.  :-\

Sim

I've come across the following video of a southern giant petrel interacting with humans!  I find it very interesting!

I've also come across this photo of brown skua and a southern giant petrel fighting over a seal carcass:

I would like to have figures of these two bird species very much!

Me Personally I would like to see:
A big fin squid figure-there is almost if not no figures of this animal ever.
Colossal Squid Figure-there is a figure I've seen going around but I would love to see one by CollectA or Safari Ltd.
Pygmy Right Whale Figure- Very cool whale knowing its the only alive close relative to the cetotherium
Fin Whale- Second largest animal and has no figures that are available
Other Figures I want without reason:
Greenland Shark, Another Bowhead Whale, Olm, Any prehistoric whale.
