This was a "tradition" I began a few years ago (its a young idea but I intend on doing on every year when possible), but had to postpone it for last year given my moving/living situation at the time. Anyhow, earlier this week I was prepping for the display of this when my sister and her kiddos stopped by to visit. My niece (7), nephew (turning 5 this month), and my other nephew (3) helped me pick out some creepy crawlies/swimmers/flappers to use as "decor". They did a pretty good job I think! Lots of variety in age, species, and types of animals. Do you see any of your favorites on here?

Right off the bat (pun not intended but I'm keeping it in) I notice the Safari 1997 purple dragonfish (one of my favorite and first ever deep sea figures), a few of the Safari deep sea Toob figures (black dragon fish, hatchetfish), the Boley anglerfish and the exceedingly rare Animal Kaiser footballfish at the very top, cleverly branching off the star-shaped illicium!
...And now I see the gulper eel from the Toob is there as well

That's fun! Looks like the kids made some smart choices.  ^-^

I like turtles.

Thank you everyone! Every guess so far is correct, I agree the kids did a nice job picking figures out. It was a fun opportunity to talk about "creepy" animals and explain that they're just animals. I.e. the gaboon viper (one of my favorite snakes/figures) is one of the most venomous in the world but it is reluctant to bite in most cases. Anyhow, a fun decor idea to utilize models in my collection, hang out with the kids for a little bit, and teach some things to them.

That's fantastic. :))

Halloween isn't popular over here in the UK but I really like your Halloween tree idea!

Thanks! I have a few that I do for holidays through the year, with animal figure related themes. I will post em here as they come up.
