Normally I don't draw attention to my publications, but my biggest just came out! A monograph on the Elateridae of the Southeastern USA (I started it when I was living in Atlanta).

It can be downloaded free from this link:

scroll down to Volume 13 of the Occasional Papers of the Florida State Collection of Arthropods

Very impressive, and some of those beetles are seriously pretty.

Quite the quintessential guide.

It is without question a very specific interest. Personally I know publications similar to these only from the herpetological field, but the intensive work that goes into these writings is nothing less than impressive. Now I do not know ehen you lived in Atlanta, but the extent of this "paper" looks like a vast undertaking that deserves a print. My congratulations on the publication and hopefully it gets a lot of citations in the etmological field.

Thank you both

There will be a print version. A colleague described new genera in the work and according to the ICZN, if new taxa (genera or species) are described, the work must be in print in a minimum of five reputable institutions (it's been a while since I read that rule, my info may be out of date).

Congrats! Living in Maryland I'm not too far out of the range that this covers. I've documented two click beetles in the state; the easily identified eyed click beetle and a small brown one that I was unable to identify, so perhaps your publication can help me.

Cool! I'm in Tennessee, so this will be a big help to me. Looking forward to digging into it.

Blaine - Sorry for not posting sooner regarding this monumental accomplishment (I was down with pneumonia for the past 2 weeks, so my excuse is at least a good one).  CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I have been expecting this for some time, now, and I am very happy to see your hard work published.  Please let me know when a physical copy of available, as I will proudly add this to my library.  I look forward to downloading the pdf in the meantime and thoroughly digesting your work.  Congratulations, again!!
