Black caiman repaint

Hi all!
I'm quite interested in the new Schleich set with the anaconda and the american alligator.
However, I have no use for the alligator, since I favoured the Papo and I don't want to include both.

So, what about a repaint to make it a black caiman?
I know caimans and alligators are not the same, but black caiman is the least "caimanish" of all, and I can see some resemblence with the Schleich figure.

My problem is that I'm sure that the number of osteoderms or any other feature makes what I'm suggesting ridiculous.

And, if it's actually absurd, is the any other species I can choose instead?

Any wise man/woman here can help me?
