AnimalToyForum

Members can now support the forum and blog by subscribing. Subscribers enjoy the forum and blog ad-free and benefit from several perks:

  • Added to the AnimalToyForum 'Supporters' group
  • Invitation to register an AnimalToyBlog account (necessary to activate perks there)
  • View the AnimalToyForum ad-free when logged in (affiliate links will still be active)
  • View the AnimalToyBlog ad-free when logged in (affiliate links will still be active)
  • Username appears aqua blue on the AnimalToyForum
  • Able to add and edit a custom title for your AnimalToyForum profile
  • Able to edit an AnimalToyBlog profile and comment on the blog using the AnimalToyBlog profile
  • Supporters on the ATF, who are also members of the DTF, will also have their accounts there upgraded to Supporter status at no extra cost (and vice versa)

A 1 year subscription is £10 (approx $13).

How to subscribe

In your member profile area on the AnimalToyForum (the drop down at the very top) click the 'Subscriptions' option. That will take you to a Subscriptions page. There you will see the option for the 1 year subscription. Click the 'Order' button and it directs you to PayPal, where you make the donation. After paying, Paypal automatically redirects you back to the forum. Upon your return, you will automatically be added to the 'Supporter' group, and the perks should immediately be activated for you.

The best way to know if it has worked is all the ads should be removed, but if you have an ad-blocker that might not be obvious. So, the other way to tell is the font colour of your name should be different (aqua blue).

How to activate perks on the AnimalToyBlog

As a supporter you will see instructions at the top of your profile page (https://animaltoyforum.com/index.php?action=profile) explaining how to register for an AnimalToyBlog account. Registration requires a secret invite code. Perks will be activated for you on the AnimalToyBlog whenever you're logged in there.

Thanks for your showing your appreciation!

Thanks to @Takama for becoming a supporter! Also, I think I thanked them on the DinoToyForum but not here, so thanks also to @sbell, @BlueKrono, and @chasmosaurus for the support.

@triceratops83 Thank you so much for becoming a supporter here on the ATF, but did you realise it wasn't necessary for you to pay, since you're already a supporter over on the DinoToyForum? One subscription is good for both sites! I just have to manually upgrade the person's account on the 'other' site, which depends which site the person makes the payment through. Apologies if I didn't do this for you. I am happy to reimburse you. O:-)

Nah, it's not a problem at all, I'm happy to contribute. I visit the dinotoyforum at least once a day, but I probably only think to come here maybe once a fortnight - I figure I owe this much at least. I really need to contribute photos to the collections thread. I mostly collect prehistoric things, but I buy a lot of extant animals as gifts - my nieces in particular have a vast assortment of golden age Schleich animals. The communities in both forums really mean a lot to me, such warm and friendly folk, and I feel indebted.

Also, quick question - will there be reminders when our subscription is due, because I sincerely doubt my ability to remember in a year's time?

Thanks, that's very generous. But please don't feel you have to renew *both* subscriptions going forward. :)

Let me check the settings to see if there is a reminder, I can't remember!

OK, cool, I'll just keep an eye out on the dinotoyforum.

I checked, and yes, an email reminder will get sent out 30 days before the subscription ends. :) I don't know how it works in detail - if you have to let the first year lapse before you can subscribe again, or if you can resubscribe in advance. We'll all find out together!
