Hi all,

Does anyone recognize these crustaceans? I've had them since I was a kid in the 90s, but I've never seen them listed anywhere else. The hermit crab is solid rubber, and the crayfish is hollow with a hole in the rostrum for squirting water.

One crayfish claw is stamped "NOS 344" on the underside, with "MADE IN CHINA" on the other claw.

The hermit crab is stamped "SDS" and has a logo that's been pretty degraded by time. It looks, rather incongruously, like a Star of David with some katakana lettering under it.

I bought them at a local five-and-dime as a kid so there's no website or paper trail to backtrace them with.

I've had a few of those crayfish over the years, all the tourist shops used to carry them around here. While I don't have an ID I can confirm they were being sold up well into the 2000's at least.

Since it has NOS 344 written on it I'm going to hazard a guess the crayfish at least is yet another of the Sun Wai models, since it fits in exactly to their numbering system.  It's also possible it was made in a Sun Wai mold but was used by some other company I suppose, although being hollow with a squirt hole certainly matches the Sun Wai figures

Could the hermit crab be AAA? They made multiple styles of them. Can't quite tell if that's a partially rubbed out AAA logo or not.

The points on the edges of the logo stick out too far towards the inner edge of the circle to be a damaged AAA logo. While I can't make out the writing enough to read it, Katakana does seem like a safe guess.
