Its been a crazy busy week for me (the crazy and the busy are sadly becoming more and more common for me) but lots of great packages have arrived to cheer my mood!

Too much in both photos to discus it all, but a brief overview:
I picked some CollectA to tie loose ends for families of figures and got 2 extra axolotls for my obssessed niece and nephew to enjoy. I lucked out and found several of the HappyKin arctic animals I thought I missed out forever on! The only one I REALLY want still missing is the hourglass dolphin. I found some fun dinos including the retired Safari plesiosuchus (missed out on this one too many times to count!). Came across the WR ecodome giraffes but I may not end up retaining them... they aren't really my style. Lastly of note I scored some rubber K&M seals from my good friend. :D

And then my new addiction... Toymany!!!

And I mean... how cute is this?

BlueKrono

Haha, I picked up doubles of that axolotl! I'm going to repaint one the dark green/black natural color. Safari really knocked it outta the park on this one, both sculpt and species choice. Couldn't have come at a better time. My local zoo said they can hardly keep axolotls of any kind in the gift shop they sell so fast.

This one is the CollectA, but I will be getting the IC one as well. My 5yr old nephew is obssessed with them, and his little sister is too by default. When I was planning in getting them figures to play with his Mom (my sister) requested the smaller sized ones because she knows they are gonna truck them around everywhere with them!

I also bought a second of the Toymany figure to do the same thing. I would love to see your repaint when its done!

BlueKrono

Oh, right you are! I actually don't have that one yet. It was the Safari they had at the zoo. I need to start focusing on buying less and working on my planned projects more.
I like turtles.

Man it has been busy lately. But I still manage to find time for my hobby. There are a fair few finds that I indulged in for my birthday earlier this month. But I am too tired currently to provide much description...

I did finally decide to get inti WIA horses! There are 2 new Schleich and a pair of Big Country paints too.

EpicRaptorMan

Nice ribbon seal. I got a spare SafariLtd Harp seal and painted my ribbon seal into one.

Also, unpopular opinion. But I don't like the overly blocky skull of the SafariLtd Axolotl. ToyMany's version is my preference

I really like the Toymany model too! They hit it out of the park.

Sometimes when you gamble... you get a pay out. The first time I saw both Toymany and Eyscota, I dabbled in their products, and (mostly with Toymany) they paid out! I wandered over to the Eyscota store to check in on them and there was a new cat set. Another must have! I will do a proper presentation thread at a later date. Then while traveling to Fort Collins Colorado for a wedding, I found a toy store with some IC scaly friends I couldn't say no to; one Bully amphibian tagged along. In the same trip, I snagged a Little Buster Toys new longhorn bull. He is a mammoth of a bovine! One "Animal Paradise" mastiff made its way home (he has 2 brothers that will be custom projects someday), and 2 Chinese dragons because I haven't gotten any fantasy models in too long... And one chinasaur-spinosaur to add to my hoard.

Aaand then other times when you gamble... it doesn't work out. This was a new "brand", EOIVSH, that popped up for me on Amazon and I gave it a try. I think a few of the dogs are bootleg moulds of Mr. Z or someone similar. They aren't *horrible* but they aren't exactly my favorite either...

The dogs I think will scale fine with most brands but are probably on the larger side. The cats are huge; they remind me of the AAA ones. The plastic and paintwork is poorer quality (the Shiba never got a nose painted in the promo nor the final products!), the sculpts have sort of a weird texture (the bottoms of the cats are flat, no paws or anything). They fall into a strange category I can't quite describe yet.

I don't feel as comfortable identifying the cats (a few are just generic shorthairs); so I will focus on the dog breeds instead. Several are very nice sculpts, but the paintwork lets it down. My lab and doberman had warped legs and my rottie had some weird dirty water spray on it I need to see if I can wash off or overcoat. The standouts for me and the schnauzer, English bull dog, and mastiff (a kurdish mastiff?).

I mean these Eyscota exotic shorthairs are dwarfed by their cousins!

A few more newbies! First up, Ken was so incredibly kind as to send me a set of the babies for review. Blaine and I will be tackling them for the ATB, but for now they are just adorable. My giraffe, sika, and moose have slightly warped legs (a result of transit and our extreme temperatures here) but each model is lovely! I will definitely be showing their own topic shortly with some comparisons. I also recently found the Safari sugar glider and Holstein cow in a Petco in Kuna Idaho. And last but not least... I got 2 more WIA! The much adored Gustav and the SE Bella Rose I got to chatting with a fellow collector on ebay, I was originally only interested in Gustav, but she offered Bella Rose for a price I couldn't refuse so she came along.

Then even more excitement! My side of a trade on STS arrived!

I got Christmas in July (arrived in August) because she reached out to me about one of my holy grails- the AAA lying down wolf mother with 2 pups. One thing led to another and I was able to score one of her specially made dolphins, a whole slew of butterflies, and more goodies!!! Such an exciting package.

The Cornelissen 'cave lion'! Such a unique set...

Saarlooswolfhound

@sbell I actually don't know much about this set, and it doesn't appear on TAW unless I am looking in the wrong place... can you tell me anything more about it? :)

It's one of...6 prehistoric mammals that are unmarked, but were available in Europe for a while. There's the standard mammoth and smilodon, a woolly rhino, the others are at least a little unusual.

I got mine (only 5) in a trade, and they had generic tags that said Cornelissen. I think there's some kind of marking too.

Later, geoworld released them in a miniature set, giving their IDs. I wrote about the mini set on my blog herehttps://faunafigures.com/2022/04/21/vault-tales-299-rts-geoworld-ice-age/

The minis are dead ringers for the larger models (which...the associated names are a little shaky, very chunky take on a giant cheetah, for example)

Uh-oh...someone's arthropod collection is expanding!  8)

Saarlooswolfhound

Thanks @sbell! This is great info.

@Blaine, yes, the insect fever has set in and is now incurable. But my collection will likely mostly be butterflies. Not for any mainstream reason, just because I like the weird animals that they are.

Some newbies:

The New Ray cats came in a big lot with almost each original release AND it's color variant. I am only missing the white Abyssinian now (pictured here are just the ones I needed). The Breyer stablemate longhorn was not only a rare sighting, but a cheap addition! Lastly the better half of the K&M AZA tube with the long wished for przewalskis horse. The others were bycatch in ebay lots or thrifting.
