Is the Mojo "Blue Groper" the actual species?

Below is a picture of the figure.
It is advertised as a Blue Groper, but the size and shape of the fish's forehead seems to suggest that it's a Humphead Wrasse(???)

So what's up? Does anyone else have this figure?

@Gwangi might have the figure, since he has it reserved for Blog review; maybe he has snooped around. I agree it doesn't appear to be a traditional blue groper, unless it undergoes some sexual transformation resulting in this morphotype

@bmathison1972 I searched the forum, and the figure was released by Mojo in 2018 which was announced here on the site. There, It is referred to as a "Humphead Wrasse" which this certainly is judging by the color, size, and forehead.

Particularly an old male.

Gwangi

I have ashamedly had the toy on reserve for review for over a year and don't even own it yet. It does appear to be a mislabeled humphead wrasse though. How Mojo goofed like that, I do not know.

Mine is actually being delivered on July 9th. Pretty cool fish tbh, I held off on purchasing it for a long time because I was worried it was too large for my liking.

But I already have the Goliath Grouper from another brand that is similarly sized.

Obviously a humphead wrasse, Cheilinus undulatus. The "blue groper" ID is community-based and I never agreed at.

It is not community-based; Mojo marketed it as that when it was released.

Oh  :-[  sorry that's what I believed to remember about a discussion about this figure in this forum, including discussion about if it should be groper or grouper. However I see I was wrong.

Lol it came in the mail one day early! I'm happy with it overall just some minor scuffs on the caudal fin.

Surprised I have waited so long to get it
