Over the past 5 or so years, in my spare time, I have compiled a list of figures/models/replicas etc. for over 1,520 species. I estimate it to be around 40-50% complete? The identifications and species on many are questionable, as much of it was done focused on creating a complete list than being a fully accurate ID. Several details about each figure are implied through text style, coloration, etc., with a key at the top. The organization was not well thought out in hindsight, and I do not edit it any more. However, this may be a possible resource for some of you? Keep in mind that ID's and even the plausibility of obtaining some figures are questionable. Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yCttb1IaBVKOlE4td3tkseix_eJyUni8EL4eCcBkI7I/edit?usp=sharing

I hope this may be of some value to interested collectors, and I have made it editable if anyone wishes to correct information for themselves or other's clarity.

That's extremely useful, what a monumental work! May I have your permission to share a link to your work in another animal figure collector community?

Interesting I have thought about doing something very similar. I can definitely help you with the arthropods and invertebrates (I already have a working list of arthropods)!

I would also suggest adding Latin names to all the common names to avoid confusion when different common names are shared between different regions

Of course! Are you referring to the STS?

Thank you! Feel free to edit it if yould like, I was having some difficulty with those sections due to sheer number of figures available. I am updating the names on my own personal copy with a much better taxonomic organization, as well as more detailed information regarding each figure. I could share that version (it only has a few figures as of yet) as a sort of community project if people are willing to participate.

Give me a couple weeks to update my list (I actually haven't tended to it since I started the non-arthropod Synoptic part of my collection).

I need to:
1. add new species
2. add company information
3. update taxonomy and nomenclature

I'll send it to you via email when I am done and you can incorporate as you see fit.

Avian

That would be much appreciated! If the project receives positive community feedback I will update it regularly. It is still missing a ton of figures as is, and if you or anyone else wishes to directly edit it I would not mind. I need to add many new figures, species, update taxonomy, and insert data. I based the idea off of the Toy Animal Wiki, which was and still is an amazing resource especially for compiling something like this. In the same spirit, I would like to invite you and the community to help out on this project directly if anyone wishes. It will be nearly impossible for me or even a few others alongside to create a complete resource, so if anyone wishes to contribute I would welcome that very much. Thank you for the arthropod information, it will be very useful as that is a particularly weak area of mine.

Best wishes, MP.

Just be cautious with Animal Toy Wiki identifications; they are often community based.

In fact, it might help to have an asterisk of other icon when identifications are community-based and not based on what the manufacturer advertised them as. Likewise, there are times when the manufacturer's identification is blatantly incorrect! I'll address some of these in the arthropod checklist and you can see a proposed way of handling them :)

Avian

Thanks for the advice! Ive run into the same issue on most of the prehistoric species, which are mostly advertised as a genus and cannot be narrowed down to an exact species :/.

I have reworked the layout, and am revising the document as a whole. Here are a few screenshots of what the new layout will look like:

Any suggestions? The shown species are not complete at the moment, and in this case are merely for example.

Will the figure mentioned be all of one species, or simply the best? Ie. The best lion is mentioned.

I am attempting to do all of each species, but several people over on the DTF have mentioned "reinventing the wheel" as there is already the ToyAnimalWiki. I may just end up transferring all of my data onto that site instead.
