Hey everyone,

I am looking to add a rare plush to my collection. The Dolichorhynchops Plush from the Sea Monsters line of Wild Republic. Released in 2008 in partnership with the Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure movie opening. I just can't find this plush for sale on the web, could you help me out?

Are you sure it ever saw the light of day? I have a rare Sea Monsters catalogue which lists 7 full sizes plush and a 3 pack of smaller plush, but a lot of the toys in this catalogue ended up canceled before they were produced and distributed. Have you asked on the DTF too?
I like turtles.

Yes I'm certain of it. It was sold as part of a movie deal at the first showing of Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure. I will ask on DTF as well.

We had two of them in our household for a while. We sold them at the dino museum I managed--it was one of the few Sea Monsters products that was actually released.

I will see if we still have both, I might be able to help.

@47grapes To follow up--I do indeed have two (clean, but no original tags) so I can spare one. I'll send a PM.

@BlueKrono just so you know, here is one link with the plush (apparently discontinued in 2013): http://www.stuffedlegends.com/dolichorhynchops.htm

I only have the one. I bought it from the Thinktank museum in Birmingham when I worked there. An IMAX associated with the museum was showing the Sea Monsters movie.

I haven't heard back. I have two, so I'm happy to sell one.

From what I've seen, there's quite a market out there.

Very cool. Sounds like the OP has dibs on your spare. Did any of the plastic ones ever make it into production?

Nope I heard the prototypes were thrown out or something

They were indeed. I called the Wild Republic rep when I didn't see them as expected in the catalogs (back when I ran a dino museum).
He said that toy stores didn't go for them enough, so they cancelled the line. I even asked after the models from the shows, but he claimed they'd been tossed.
A smarter member of the sales team would have kept them. They'd be worth a fortune now

If I don't hear back soon I'll find it another home. I reached out a week ago, haven't heard anything
