Sharper horns by adding modelling clay

Some figures have blunter horns, beaks, claws and teeth than collectors would wish, obviously for safety reasons as these figures can be used as toys for children.

But for those that want more realistic figures they can add modelling paste for elongate and sharp the horns. In this case I used WePam.

Then it only remain painting and... you got a fine result!

Ah, I just did this on the fangs of the Schleich Dinogorgon last year. They were very blunt. It's a great technique!

WePam feel like a glue stick! It's wet and sticky and you must keep it wet while modelling before getting the definitive shape and texture - otherwise it can dry and don't allow you to sculpt well the textures.

The other paste that I acquired, FimoAir, feels completely different - like the stuff of a sandwich cookie, fragile, dry, not elastic, very easy to separate bits from it.

And the paste that I used before, SuperSculpey, is more like a mix of plasticine and bubble gum - more resistant and elastic and consistent than Fimo Air, but not wet nor sticky like WePam.

SuperSculpey needs to be baked to harden properly, you sure you used that? I work with Fixit Sculpt, a 2 component epoxy, in such works. Its sticky during the first 20 minutes or so, holds very well to plastic, can be worked for like two hours (and drilled, carved etc. after hardening) and is very durable after curing.

Any great result, real shame so many figures cry for such a treat these days, wonder how we survived the 80's :D

I use Green Stuff. It sounds a lot like Fix It property-wise.
I like turtles.

Of course, that's why I got the new pastes WePam and Fimo Air because with these I can add parts to figures already done, a thing that I can't do with SuperSculpey because I cannot bake a finished figure! Otherwise this rhino, bison and buffalo would had sharp horns since long time ago :)
