Best Mandrill figure?

Been looking for a Mandrill lately...just trying not to spend too much on a retired figure. And I'm unsure if the new 2022 Schleich Mandrill is detailed or sized to my liking just yet.

I went with Papo - it's a good balance of quality and size. The newer Safari one is nice, but if I remember correctly, it's pretty big. If you went with Schleich, I'd say the older one; the 2022 model looks like a cartoon character.

@bmathison1972 yeah problem is the old Schleich one are really expensive now.

The Papo looks good, but I feel like it's kinda scrawny for such a large monkey. So idk...Papo one is getting harder to find too.

Update: I went ahead and went with Papo for the Mandrill. It was recently discontinued and supplies were all but gone but managed to find one on eBay from Australia for ~$30. A bit more than what I'd like to have paid but 🤷‍♂️

Figure looks good and is extraordinarily detailed with fur and muscle textures and is nicely sized too. There is one small paint chip on the hind leg.

I feel now fortunate for have the old Schleich - in my opinion much better than the new one - found in a local stationery shop for very cheap. I didn't knew it was retired.

Male. I don't collect figures that are not singletons.

So I eventually did go with the Papo Mandrill, but I've noticed that it is quite lean in physique. It appears to be a female, but with the facial colorations of a male.

I found a pair of old Schleich ones that I have coming in the mail and may end up replacing the Papo.
Also, it appears that when the website updated the attachments were lost (?)

Whoa, the Papo mandrill was discontinued? I just ordered one at Modellpferdeversand for 8.19 euros.

Yeah it was a bit hard to find and admittedly I paid too much for it.

I do prefer the older Schleich better. A bit smaller but more in line to what I view a Mandrill as.

Yeah, old(er) Schleich figures were really good. The new Schleich mandrill looks like it came right out of the Lion King, though.
