Hello friends, this is the figure of
Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus) Linnaeus, 1758 of
Ediciones del Prado. Total lenght is 70mm. Found in the Andes mountains and adjacent Pacific coasts of western South America, the Andean Condor has a wingspan of up to 3.2 m/10.5 ft but is exceeded by the Wandering Albatross (at up to 3.6 m/12 ft), the Southern Royal Albatross, the Dalmatian and the Great White Pelicans (at reportedly up to 3.5 m/11.6 ft). Andean Condors is found in South America in the Andes, including the Santa Marta Mountains. In the north, its range begins in Venezuela and Colombia, where it is extremely rare. The condor soars with its wings held horizontally and its primary feathers bent upwards at the tips.
Sometimes, we can find nice figures that they are a gift of magazines collections. Ediciones del Prado launched a great collection of figures of animals with a great details. It is a good example. This is a great replica of this bird from my point of view with a great details in its head and feathers. Stand and colors are really nice. I think that it is one of the few figures of this specie. I bought this figure in a flea market of Madrid (Spain) one week ago.
