I have real news again!

This has been a shaky year with suppliers so far--but of all companies, Replica Toy Fish has come through!

There is now a small-series striped bass and, important for people with dinosaur models--a longnose gar! Something for spinosaurids to eat!

They cost more than the original series (and not only because of the terrible Canadian dollar) but I think they're exciting. ;) I will have them up on the site soon. I also got restocked in everything except the 6" channel catfish, because those are completely out of stock (but I do still have one...just saying).

The available series is here: http://faunafigures.com/category/brand/replica-toy-fish/
Also, I have a Safari order actually on its way...I did say that I've had supply problems this year.

This is great news! :) Strange, there is nothing about the new releases on Replica Toy Fish's facebook page (I guess it's just not maintained at the moment) but checking their own website I see that there is also a new Lake Sturgeon. Did you hear anything about the other prototypes? At least, here's hoping that eventually we may see all of them getting released. Including the Bowfin, of course. :)

I think he got a few of the runs of a few different fish from them, to see how they were before committing. It is hard to say about its success.

I actually got two of the Lake Sturgeon and Brook Trout (not even pictured on his site) for myself. Simeon is leery of selling these because the paint and sculpt qualities aren't as nice as he would have like (and I can attest that the sturgeon, especially, is a little on the rough side). I'll put up photos when I have some.

It's also why these ones are more expensive--production costs went up while they were being produced, and there's not much to be done about that.

And yes, every time I get the chance, I mention that we really need a bowfin and paddlefish.

sbell

Big news! Just got my 2015 Safari order! I really prefer their new distribution model (it means I actually got stuff in!)

Mostly prehistoric and Incredible Creatures. And some other fun things!

You can see the new in stock (including some 2014 figures that just never made it here until now) here: http://faunafigures.com/product-tag/newsafari2015/

And, I got restocked in a bunch of the best and most popular Safari models too:http://faunafigures.com/product-tag/safarirestock2015/

So far it's only new figures, no used/old stuff.

And I don't have much left in the way of spares for any of those anyway; their heyday was almost 10 years ago, and I haven't found anything new since about then.

sbell

I am finally able to say that I have new models from CollectA in stock! And some new Replica Toy Fish too!

First, the modern animals:

The Amur leopard, Springbok, Chiru and Babirusa! There are several others that did not come in yet...supplier issues.

Prehistoric animals:

Smilodon, Moropus, Xiangguanlong, Daeodon, Temnodontosaurus, Daxiatitan, Nasutoceratops, Medusaceratops and Pliosaurus.

As a bonus, the Pliosaurus has lampreys attached to it--they're like the first lamprey figures! On a base! Also, the pliosaurus is pretty cool...

Also, I have one left of the new 1: 4 Guidraco:

It is sufficiently enormous. Very cool model!

And finally, new from Replica Toy fish:

They are all part of the 3" line. A Guadalupe bass, Adult alligator gar, and juvenile alligator gar (spotted one). Those last two, like the 3"longnose gar, are great for diorama purposes (finally, something for the spinosaurs to eat)!

The new figures can be seen at http://faunafigures.com/product-tag/rtf-2015/ and http://faunafigures.com/product-tag/collecta-2015/

sbell

Thought I would also incude this here, as some advance info:

It's the first models of what I am calling the FaunaFiguresFishes line. They will be stamped with FFF on the belly.

First, Polypterus senegalus!

Second, Protopterus annectens

The third one is Pantodon buchholzi but I don't have a prototype photo yet (the fins are...awkward).

Stay tuned for more info.

Now in the store at faunafigures.com, I have just received the deluxe Spinosaurus, great white, leaping Nile crocodile and blacktip reef shark!

Black tip Reef Shark & Open-jaw Great White Shark

Leaping Nile Crocodile and Deluxe Spinosaurus!

Also got in the gigantic Guidraco figure, but I only have one left...!

Those are all available in the store.

http://faunafigures.com/product-tag/collecta-2015/

Also, finally, a chance to let a Spinosaurus eat a gar (also available in the store)!

sbell

I just wanted to let everyone know, I'm running a year-end sale at the store; almost everything is on sale (except some newer CollectA and Safari).

I have also extended the free shipping promo that applies to Canadian customers to our US customers as well!

http://faunafigures.com/cyber-monday-sale-although-it-will-be-a-little-longer/

If for no other reason, I can't find Mojo anymore, so I need to make room to being in something else--to say nothing of the incoming Safari and CollectA this year (and a lot of Safari is expected in January as it is!).

Also, keep an eye out because I'll be putting out announcements about the exclusive FISH MODELS! Butterflyfish, Senegal bichir and West African lungfish!

Thanks for taking a look!

sbell

As of yesterday I received my Safari 2016 initial order! Which is great, and all loaded up:

https://faunafigures.com/product-tag/newsafari2016/

One thing I was really suprised about was the improved paint jobs on some of the sharks, and the reissued prehistoric mammals.

I will say/post more about them when I get to them, but I just haven't had the time today.

I also received my first batch of the FF Fish line--the bichir, African butterflyfish and West African lungfish

I had more time with them today, so pictures!

I'm pretty excited to finally have these available!

And some group shots:

A raft of butterflyfish:

A...breath?...of lungfish:

And a...beaching?...biking?...of bichirs:

I have been waiting since I was 12 (an unreasonably long time ago) to see figures of these made. Since no one else did, I did!

Available here: https://faunafigures.com/category/brand/fauna-figures-fishes/

Awesome! :) I just checked what you wrote on your website, so the Pantodon buchholzi is about life-size, too! 8)

Pretty close, yeah (I forgot to include some sort of scale in the photos...). But the Pantodon is about the same size as the one in my fish tank!

The bichir is about the size that my senegalus was when I got it, too! Of course, they get much larger.

sbell

They have arrived! Lamprey, paddlefish, bowfin and African bonytongue!

https://faunafigures.com/category/brand/fauna-figures-fishes/

I'm out of bichirs, but they can be backordered, only takes a coupke of weeks (maybe less, I'll have some on the way soon).

I'll get my own photos up soon (this is a before-they-were-shipped photo).

sbell

Just thought I'd put a new photo of the fishes up--one of my own! With a CollectA guy and Safari guy for scale (obviously, the fish are not to scale wtih each other...)

And, my son requested a marble lungfish pattern on the original lungfish:

To compare with the original West African:

Hope you like them!

sbell

These are still a long way off from ready (and may not all be released at the same time), but the next wave have been sculpted!

L->R White-headed hagfish, Aquitanian pike, Wels catfish, Sterlet and Burbot

We are going for a European range this time! And, yeah, a little beyond the 'freshwater', but why not? Still FaunaFigures Fishes!

Also, check out this hagfish mouth:

So weird.

And we still have at least a few of each the other species still in stock at the store (except the bichir, but I'm getting more!)

stemturtle

Nice hagfish. We have been needing that figure for 300 million years.  :)

Just a quick announcement that I finally got in more of the Replica Toy Fish line--including some new-to-the-store fishes (mostly salmonids, but also the Lake sturgeon).

See what is new (or finally restocked after a long absence) here: https://faunafigures.com/product-tag/rtf-2016-summer/

I am also hoping to have the third wave of fish figures, plus re-stocks, by the end of this month!

sbell

What's that? AN update from FaunaFigures? It is indeed! After waiting all summer, I have finally received my first batch of wave 3--the European (-ish) species.

We have brought out a starry sturgeon (I kept saying sterlet...that's an entirely different species), a burbot!, and a white-headed hagfish (whose heads, really, aren't all that white apparently).

They are not up on the site just yet, but I do have a group shot with them and all of their back-in stock fellows:

I am still waiting for a couple of marbled lungfish...

I also have some models made by Brandon for his own line, Obscurus. A Mystriosuchus and a Balaur!

They should be up on the site soon!
