Hello this is the spotted hyena of Papo. This figure was released in 2009 and currently is the only hyena of Papo.

This figure is a good representation of this animal. She is the obscure versión of this figure. From my point of view, the color of this figure is better than the clear version. The proportions are good and the hair will be better, because Papo do good hair effects in his other figures and this is very plain. The colors not bad  but is different a real spotted hyena. The best points of this figure is the sculpture in general because she has a dinamic position and his face and head are very nice. I bought this figure in a break time when I was in the congress of zooarcheology  ^-^.

I still think, of all of them, that this may be the most cartoonish. I have it of course, but it certainly does not hold up to the expectations we have for Papo wildlife figures.

This one is an ugly figure, and not in a good way :-X

They came flying from far away, now I'm under their spell....

Yes, Papo do good figures, but this hyena is not the best work that they have done  ^-^. I remenber the hyenas of The Lion King of Disney  ^-^.

Yes, they could have done a better figure. I hope to look a Papo spotted hyena better  ^-^.

Yes, the glossy look and lack of fur textures (and the cartoonishness) are making the hyena less attractive than Papo could have made it. Still not a bad figure, though. But an update by Papo would certainly be welcome!

I think the same, Papo could have done a good figure with more details as Felines, for example  ^-^.

I agree it looks cartoony and not very realistic but somehow I really like it. It has so much expression on this face, it really looks like laughing one :) It has own character, I think my collection wouldn't be the same without this figure :)

Yes, I think the same. It is a cartoony figure, but it is a cool figure of this animal and this is the reason that I bought this figure  ^-^.
