there are also four species native to the Americas. In fact, this figure appears to be based on the American flamingo, Phoenicopterus ruber.

Nice Flamingo replica! :) I wonder if those gracile legs are prone to warping when temperatures rise. And as Blaine said, this is most likely the American Flamingo. Besides, there is no flamingo species restricted to Africa.

Mine have never warped, and I've had them for a loooong time.  I'm sure if the temperature got high enough, sure, they would, but I have at least one of these flamingos displayed in a spot directly under the heat vent, and that spot can get extremely hot in the winter, and yet the flamingo stands tall as ever.
