Hello friends, this is the figure of
Pygmy Sperm Whale (Kogia breviceps) Blainville, 1838 of
Collecta - Sea Life. Total lenght is 152 mm. This figure was relased in 2014 and it is avaliable. The pygmy sperm whale is not much larger than many dolphins. They are about 1.2 metres at birth, growing to about 3.5 metres at maturity. Adults weigh about 400 kilograms. The underside is a creamy, occasionally pinkish, colour and the back and sides are a bluish grey; there is, however, considerable intermixing between the two colours. The shark-like head is large in comparison to body size, given an almost swollen appearance when viewed from the side. There is a whitish marking, often described as a "false gill", behind each eye. Like its giant cousin, the sperm whale, the pygmy sperm whale has a spermaceti organ in its forehead (see sperm whale for a discussion of its purpose). It also has a sac in its intestines that contains a dark red fluid. The whale may expel this fluid when frightened, perhaps to confuse and disorient predators.

Collecta is a young brand of figures, but in his short time of existence, they have done a lot of figures of different species of animals (included rare species of dinosaurs and animals). In their cattegory of sea life, they have included the Pigmy Spermwhale. This figure is a nice representation of this animal. The colors are exact and the details are nice and the sculpture is awesome. I think that it is one of the best figures of this animal and good acquistion for pandas collectors. I bought this figure in a toy store of in Cádiz (Spain) one week ago
