Customised figures / copper's paints - TAKING COMMISSIONS
« on: November 10, 2015, 08:44:57 PM »
long time no see but now i'm back!

i'm open for commissions again!  :)

it takes 2-3 weeks at maximum for me to finish one model depending on the size and color pattern of the model, and how much i have irl stuff happening. every week i dedicate two days for resting.
if i have multiple customers at the same time, i will complete the works in the order the commission deals were done.
in addition to painting i can do fixing, moderate modifying, building and adding features on the commissioned item. making bases is possible too but i only do them by sculpting.

trades are also an option; instead money payment i can also trade my paint work for  and kits i'm looking for, but be warned, i'm quite picky when it comes to animal species and individual models!

i prefer payment in advance just because that way i can be sure the deal is struck and i can keep track of my commissions. i accept paypal only and ship worldwide.

if you're interested, send me a note here or contact me via email!  ( lakritsivaahtokarkki[at] )

this is going to be my figure painting thread, i have animals i've repainted and much more which need to be repainted!

i got a warning that i should go and start a new thread because this one has been inactive for a long time, but i thought it would be unnecessary to start another fish thread since we already have this one...
(moderators feel free to take action on this if needed)

here are my current figures from Yujin's goldfish series:

Black moor

Hi copper, this looks like the small-spotted variant of the extremely variable Harlequin Poison Frog, Oophaga histrionica (formerly Dendrobates histrionicus).
Hope that could help! :)

Ah, thanks! i thought it had something to do with o. histrionica. i didn't know the "names" they use to separate the variations so the closest i could get was finding photos of the frogs with the larger spots : )
thanks brontodocus!

i'm confused about the exact species of this dart frog, can you help me out : )

great photos! i'm tempted to buy and repaint this one, even though the size of the figure might be a little too big for my collection..

As far as I've heard, the Mojo 2013 releases should be out in late August.

Someone should really explain seasons to them--specifically, when might zoos and museums be most interested in having the stock on their shelves? (hint: when the most customers are there--which is rarely the fall).

ugh i don't understand it either... seems like papo is a late releaser as well : /

i own an irian jaya blue tongue skink (tiliqua sp, currently undescribed), and i'm a member on a blue tongue skink forum; if you want to know the species of that AAA cast, i could ask around. there are quite a few experts on the forum that might be able to figure it out by looking the body shape of that model, since the colors are obviously a bit off.
If that's possible it may be really helpful so thanks in advance! :). If other characters are needed, e.g. head scales or something, I could take photos of those characters, too.

i got an answer from the forum, you most probably have a male Merauke Blue Tongued Skink (Tiliqua gigas evanescens). here's the excellent reply:

"My guess is that it is a male merauke. The thing that seems a bit off is the tail, however, considering that it is molded from a deceased animal, I guess it is possible that the hemipenes swelled up postpartum. Or worse, they could have been swollen at the time of death (poor guy). If not for that swollen look, the tail looks gigas.

I am pretty sure only gigas and scincoides have elongated temporal scales, so that rules everything else out right away. It seems to have some jowls too, so back to gigas. Could be an IJ, but the thin tail still makes me go with merauke. The body/head proportions along with the tail and "bulge" are what make me say male.

i'll pm you some merauke identification info too : )
