World record Alligator mississippiensis

There are lots of old, semi-reliable records of bigger gators, but its nice to know there are big ones out there now. It's a good indication of this species' remarkable recovery.

Oh it was killed. Legally but still sickening. Makes me ashamed to be from Alabama.

I say if you kill the animal you should loose the record, after all its really the animal who got the record
