New for 2018 / Re: Kaiyodo - New for 2018
« on: January 27, 2018, 11:57:04 AM »

This set has just been released. Must have the Tree Frog and the two white Axolotl figures :D !

Thanks Helge, but this should go under Ikamon-Nature Techni Colour, not Kaiyodo  ;)

Oops! Sorry for that. Maybe it was too late in the evening.
Maybe you could delete the quoted picture as well.

This set will be released round april. The comic characters corresponding to the sets animals will be released later.
im not really sure if that hand-figure contrast is accurate but are these figures the same scale as the major brands or a bit smaller?

I guess they are smaller than the major companies' figures, but bigger than the usual Kaiyodo size.

^ Serval and Shoebill (which seems to be bigger than previous ones) are must-haves for me :) . Thanks for the info!

If we'd change the name to "Arthropod Toy Forum" it could still be called ATF ;D.

Welcome back, CetaceanFan! :) Although, I have been away from the ATF for several months myself and have just returned...

... which was about time >:( ;D. Good to see you back!
I admit I also haven't been around here too often during the last months. Too many Dinosaurs and not enough time left for the extant species :-[.

Yujin / Re: Insects of Japan Vol. 1 (Yujin)
« on: October 05, 2017, 08:35:33 PM »
Although not being an Insects specialist, I simply adore the Yujin sets.
:) In my opinion some of the most beautiful figures ever done.
I should have bought at least all the dragon flies when they were easily available ::).

Other/Miscellaneous / European Kingfisher (Vienna Bronze)
« on: September 19, 2017, 05:36:25 PM »
This Vienna Bronze figure was made around the turn of the century in Vienna / Austria.
The founder of the best known bronze manufacture of these days, Franz Xaver Bergmann
lived from 1861 to 1936, which is about the time period we're talking about.
My guess is 1910 - 1920, but I'm definitely not an expert on this.
The figure is pretty heavy and incredibly beautiful. I hope I could capture this a bit in these pics.
I found it at a flea market in Zürich / Switzerland. :) Lucky me!

compared to the figures of Nature Techni Colour (left) and Kaiyodo (center):

I have re-uploaded my pics in this thread.
Unfortunately a lot of Gecko pictures have been lost due to the Photobucket damage :'(.
It would be great if as many as possible could be brought back.

                                                             Now I have two.
I hope to find a third one on my next Australia trip.

Animal groups / Mammals of Australia
« on: August 21, 2017, 08:55:10 PM »
The mammals of Australia are so exceptional, especially the marsupials and monotremes.
I thought they should have a thread of their own. Please show your mammalian Aussie creatures!

I'm starting with my small collection. First there is this new line from Down Under called Southlands Replicas.
All figures are in 1:15 except for the tiny species (Quoll, Brushtail Possum, Platypus & Echidna) which are in 1:12.
I'm not a completist at all, but I will follow this line and get each and every new species they'll release.
They're wonderful little figures and IN SCALE to each other!!!

Red Kangaroo male & Eastern Grey Kangaroo female

Southlands Replicas Spotted Tail Quoll, Science & Nature Quoll

Southlands Replicas Northern Koala female (on the tree), on the floor: Science & Nature small, Noah’s Pals and Mojö Koala

Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo male & Mountain Brushtail Possum

Science & Nature Bandicoot (small), Leadbeater's Possum & Kaiyodo Sugar Glider

Science & Nature Quokka and Numbat (on the tree), small Possum on the floor

                                                                             A small selection of Platypus:

  :D Beautiful Colorata turtles!

Colorata also sold a box of the adult sea turtles without the hatchlings. See reply #16 by postsaurischian on this thread.

This link coerced me into re-uploading my pics in this thread ;D .... which I did.

 .... still a lot is missing :'(.

Glad you were able to acquire it; sorry I could not have been more help. :)

I still would not be aware of its existence without your hint ;).
:) Now there are 13 different figures in my Giant Salamander collection.

Forum business / Re: Posting images
« on: June 30, 2017, 09:52:16 AM »
I'm sorry to say that all my pictures are gone due to Photobucket's new restrictions.
They want USD $399 from me to go on. I can't do that.
I don't know if any of the moderators wants to do that lot of work, but you should delete my posts, especially in the walk-around section, because it makes the forum quite unattractive with all those missing photos.
I was having a great time posting pictures and I will miss it a lot. To bring them back is too much work for me.
I quit. I'm saying thank you for the pleasure this forum brought to me and bye bye.

:D Ah! Just as I have suspected. Thanks for the info, Beetle guy.
I think I'll have to get me the colour variant too.
