I think the cat's saying "Give us a twirl, wow, snazzy jacket!"

I will be posting more active in two weeks.
Than some deadlines are taken care of. 8)

The Japanese manufacturers' (my collecting source) animal output is at a all time low. ;-(
Especially Kaiyodo isn't even a ghost from what they made in the years 2014/2015 when it comes to animals.

I have some nice newly found old stuff though!
Be back in a bit!

I miss Brontodocus on the forum. Hope he's allright.

Is there a reason for the paucity of new Kaiyodo figures? Intentional or just random?

I think Brontodocus is busy, as the rest of us. :)

Thanks Adam!!

I will continue to recapture the images of my (now) photoless posts.

Are the photo-less posts due to Photobucket?

Indeed! But I was thinking more of large animals, like whales. ;D

Found this, which has citations that confirm some of the things you have raised. Thanks for your help!

No worries--this wouldn't have something to do with plesiosaur flippers, would it? Because that would be super!

Well, knowing the Admin has an "obsession" with plesiosaurs, I would assume so... ;D

Of course it did! Humpback whales seem to be the only whales that (sometimes) use wing-like flippers for propulsion. I wondered if there was anything about their behaviour that could account for this adaptation, and if that might help us to understand plesiosaurs.

Thanks Adam. I started fixing mine (I did the Bullyland walk-arounds) but wasn't going to do everything again. So glad you found a way to do it all at once!

Glad it saved you some trouble. I'm quite proud of myself for working out how to do it - my knowledge of MYSQL is rudimentary!

It's a shame there was/is no such fix for the Photobucket problem.

Yeah, same here actually. We all have lots going on in real life! Since the community consists of a handful of regular active members, it is noticeable when they're absent. :))

I feel that there's a sort of critical mass that a forum must achieve to remain healthy, because posts beget posts. The ATF is always nudging up to that critical mass, but never quite gets there. One or two more active members might make all the difference.

I suspect the Photobucket problem put off a lot of people, too.

I fixed all the dead postimages by working out how to do a "find and replace" on the forum's MYSQL database. 8) That's a relief.  ^-^

You may have noticed all the postimage-hosted images on the forum are not appearing. The reason is as RobinGoodfellows shared on the DTF:

"Official reply from Postimages:

postimg.ORG domain is locked by Registry, no prior notice.
While we hope to resolve the issue, we chose postimg.CC as our new home.
Please update codes embedded in your websites.

Your pictures are still there, but any pics links you posted you have to change the .org in the link to .cc to get them to show again.

Change this:

to this:

So, it is relatively easy to fix, but time consuming.

There might be a way I can find and replace "org" with "cc", but I'm not familiar enough with MySQL databases to implement the change. Can anyone help.

Is it just me, or has it been especially quite here at the ATF in recent months? Is everyone okay?

Can anyone recommend a place to buy real animal skeletons (legally)?

Welcome to the forum! Enjoy your stay.  8)

I love big marine vertebrates too - but mostly of the Mesozoic reptilian kind. ;) Though whales are awesome, too, my personal favourite being the humpback.

If only I had time, I could organise an ATF diorama contest as well! Maybe one day, once I have retired!

Worms hatch from tiny lemons?  :))

Seriously though, I really like Safari Ltd's Life Cycles of Animals sets.

Where do you think sour gummy worms come from? :)

Yes, I like the life cycles, too. I wish they'd make more of them, it's a good way to sneak more arthropods into their repertoire :)

Woud there be any particular creature life cycles you'd like to see made?
