Japanese spider crab (Kaiyodo - Enoshima Aquarium)
« on: June 21, 2013, 04:57:37 PM »
This is the Japanese spider crab (Macrocheira kaempferi) by Kaiyodo from the Enoshima Aquarium series. The Japanese spider crab is called takaashigani in Japanese, which literally means 'tall legs crab'. This little figurine measures approximately 5cm long and is detachable from the base.

And for humour sake, the spindly legs and the underside remind me of a facehugger from Aliens!  ;D

Someone on our Facebook page pointed out that it looks a little like an alien face hugger, especially from below. hehe.

Excellent! :) I think I still prefer the Yujin Macrocheira kaepferi, but this one is also very good. And it's a girl! ;D
