your dollar store gecko looks like an anole...was it labeled as a gecko? Could be a mis-labeling in conjunction with an AAA/Playvisions knockoff?
the dollar store "gecko" looks like a scaled down AAA monitor lizard
The ID given is simply gecko for UK Yowies series 1, #32:http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/akichan/uk-one4.htmSorry, sbell. Species is not named.

Species is not named. But someone must have a guess! I kind of thought 'sand gecko' for some reason at one point, not sure why (maybe the base substrate?).But given the heavy plates on the back, it looks less like a gecko than that bin figure!
The panther (AKA pictus) gecko is the name on the belly, but yes, it looks nothing like one. Not every Play Vision figure was perfect! Not sure what it's supposed to be though. And nice real geckos--it's been years since I kept any live ones.

I must say i have no idea myself, can't think of any species right now that resembles these collorations.Abouth the name, it was propably manufactured before the name was changed so that's why it says pictus, the same with the Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis, wich is now split up into P. madagascariensis madagascariensis and P. grandis.
Considering the Gecko by Pete Smit - while I don't know if this was the intention the tail looks quite fat. There are several Australian gecko species which store fat in their tails. For example, the Velvet Geckoes, genus Oedura look a little similar. Oedura literally means "fat tail".
EDIT: Oh, and Uroplatus, your photos are brilliant and it was a good idea to post a picture of a real Paroedura picta here for comparison. If you want to show your entire collection of geckos, go ahead, I'd just recommend opening a thread in the Animals or General section.
