wow this is an incredible model. If I was more taxonomically diverse I am sure I'd have this one too.  ;D

Very nice. I ordered mine through Brett so I probably won't get them for a short while. No new species but I'm excited to get species from a new company.

They look better than I aspected, especialy the dorsal side!

This came in today. Two sets of beetles (Dynastinae and Lucanidae).

Their are made by Acces toys (which was an unknown manufacturer to me before) and were released this month (june 2018)
The boxes have a wrong translation, saying there are twelve beetles in it. While clearly seven per set are there.

The Lucanidae set, which I like most, contains: Prosopocoilus giraffa keisukei, Dorcus titanus palawanicus, Cyclomatus elaphus, Dorcus hopei binodulosus, Phalacrognathus muelleri, Allotopus rosenbergii.
Nothing new species in toy form here.

The Dynastidae set contains: Dynastes hercules hercules, Dynastes hercules lichyi (blue type), Chalcosoma caucasus chiron, Trypoxylus dichotomus, Dynastes granti, Eupatorus gracilicornis Megasoma elephas.
So no new species known in toy form here also. The Dynastes hercules species have different molds, that's nice!

The figurines are pretty good, the ventral side is left plain black but also nicely detailed, the paintjob is fairly realistic. So nice figurines considering the price of about 5 Euro per set!
Might snatch up an extra Lucanidae set to repaint.  8) I am centainly going to lose the weird bright red eyes (which remind of the early sega sets)  ;)

Some pic's:

Yowies / Re: Attwater's Prairie Chicken (Yowies - USA)

'Chicken' is a bit of a misnomer as this genus is actually a grouse. Common names can be misleading, which is why scientific taxonomy is so important. Anyway, interesting figure. Are there any other toys of this genus or is it unique?
